The bromance

So, we thought the movie I Love You Man and the notion of a bromance is just plain hysterical.. and appropriate! (In case you don’t know, a “bromance,” or “man-crush,” is a close but non-sexual relationship between two men.) But where did it all begin?  Aristotle described a concept similar to the bromance as early as 300 BC (woah now), writing:

“It is those who desire the good of their friends for the friends’ sake that are most truly friends, because each loves the other for what he is, and not for any incidental quality.”

A number of celebrities have engaged in bromances with fellow celebrities. Examples include Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, described as “perhaps the pioneering bromance in showbiz history,” which incidentally led to a hit off-Broadway play called Matt and Ben. There is also the friendship between George Clooney and Brad Pitt, which some describe as “George’s longest lasting affair.” Ha!

But we know there’s a lingering question on everybody’s mind…

We think we’ve got it.

We’d like to introduce the world to…
